Harry G. DeMeo, MD

Dr. DeMeo was born and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. He received his bachelor of Political Science from SUNY at Stony Brook, his Bachelor of Sciences Columbia University School of General Studies, before moving to Rome, Italy to attend medical school. Dr. DeMeo returned to NYC for Internal Medicine residency at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, where he also served as Chief Resident.

He decided to specialize in gastroenterology, and was trained at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center, after which he returned to Brooklyn and founded Bay Ridge Gastroenterology in 1986, in order to provide excellent care for his community. Dr. DeMeo also opened the first ambulatory endoscopic surgery center focusing solely on gastroenterological procedures in New York State. Dr. DeMeo has admitting privileges at NYU Langone Health and volunteers his time there to teach gastroenterology fellows.

Elizabeth R. DiRienzo PA-C

DiRienzo graduated from the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center, Physician Assistant Program and St. John’s University in 2001 as the Didactic Year Valedictorian and overall Salutatorian.

She began her career at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in Pediatrics from 2001 to 2003. Prior to joining Bay Ridge Gastroenterology, DiRienzo worked in primary care/urgent care in Queens, New York from 2003 to 2005 and also in the critical care unit at New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. DiRienzo joined Bay Ridge Gastroenterology in 2005 and sees patients with a variety of gatroenterological ailments.

Certifications

National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. NY state-licensed to practice medicine with a supervising physician.
